ChiRunning® Instruction!
Meet Mark….
As an instructor I put a lot of thought into
teaching and meeting the needs of my students. In order to achieve
this I want to……
-
know your running challenges
-
understand your objectives
-
develop a realistic plan of your running
goals
I will offer a supportive, exciting and
learning atmosphere during the workshop. My expectations of my
students are to come with an open mind and leave with a feeling of
personal accomplishment.
Here are some facts that will help
you determine if I am the right ChiRunning Instructor for you.
-
My teaching style is easy going and
comfortable
-
In a race you will find me somewhere in
middle of the “pack”, I’m no speed demon
-
I come with an understanding of what it is to suffer running
injuries, as I did prior to ChiRunning.

Before and After….
Prior to hearing about ChiRunning I
was a runner who thought getting injured was just a natural part of
training. Since I’ve always been a big and heavy runner (compared to
other runners) I didn’t question it too much. My first two marathons
were run in pain due injuries sustained during my training. During
my first marathon training experience I was introduced to
Illiotibial Band Syndrome also known as IT Band syndrome. This knee
pain hampered my long training runs and then during the event it
started to hurt at mile #2. I ended up running the remaining 24.2
miles in varying degrees of pain. Surprisingly enough I signed up
for a 2nd marathon the next year and ended up with
Plantar Fasciitis arch pain during that training period. After
completing that event in pain I vowed to never run another marathon
again….ever!
As you can probably guess, I was introduced to
ChiRunning after my second marathon. That’s when I studied my
running form and made a decision to incorporate ChiRunning into my
life.
Fast forward to today. I’ve completed
approximately 10 more marathons, multiple half marathons and several
5K & 10K races not to mention thousands of miles in training. All of
this without pain or running related injuries. I firmly believe that ChiRunning has allowed
me to run as often
as I want and given me the ability to run further, with less effort
and zero pain.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you, whether you
are a brand new runner looking to stay in shape, an experienced
competitive athlete, or most likely, someone in between.
